Cathay Pacific Offers Up to C$80 Off Canada–Hong Kong Flights with Mastercard

Cathay Pacific has released two limited-use promotion codes for Canadian Mastercard cardholders booking round-trip flights from Vancouver or Toronto to Hong Kong.

The codes provide:

• C$45 off each eligible economy ticket with code CXMC45CA
• C$80 off each eligible premium economy or business-class ticket with code CXMC80CA

Bookings must be completed by July 30, 2026, for eligible trips departing between September 1 and November 30, 2026.

The discount is not restricted to the Cathay World Elite Mastercard. Cathay's terms state that it is available to Mastercard cardholders who select Mastercard as the payment method at checkout.

Cathay Mastercard promotion details

The quotas apply to tickets rather than bookings. For example, two eligible economy tickets would provide a total discount of C$90, provided both tickets are accepted under the remaining promotion quota.

Cathay also warns that the limited promotional inventory for a flight may be unavailable even when other fares remain available in the same cabin.

Eligible Canadian routes

The offer covers eligible round trips to Hong Kong International Airport (HKG) originating from:

• Vancouver International Airport (YVR)
• Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ)

It does not cover one-way bookings, departures from other Canadian airports, or destinations beyond Hong Kong under the published terms.

The travel window is described as the departure period, so the outbound trip must depart between September 1 and November 30, 2026. Travellers should confirm that the discount remains visible in the fare summary before paying.

How to use the Cathay discount code

To apply the offer:

1. Sign in on Cathay Pacific's Canadian website.
2. Search for a round trip from Vancouver or Toronto to Hong Kong.
3. Choose a departure date from September 1 through November 30, 2026.
4. Select economy, premium economy, or business class.
5. Enter the code that corresponds to the cabin:
   • CXMC45CA for economy
   • CXMC80CA for premium economy or business class
6. Confirm that the discount appears in the fare summary.
7. Select Mastercard as the payment method and complete the purchase by July 30.

The code cannot be added after purchase and cannot be combined with another offer.

Cathay members who book through the airline's website may also be eligible for its member-exclusive 24-hour free-cancellation policy, subject to the separate cancellation terms.

The discount applies per ticket

Because the discount is a fixed amount per eligible ticket, the total reduction increases with the number of passengers:

These totals assume that enough promotional tickets remain and every passenger's ticket qualifies.

The percentage saved depends on the fare. A C$45 reduction represents 3% of a C$1,500 economy fare, while C$80 represents 2% of a C$4,000 business-class fare. The codes should therefore be treated as a fixed checkout discount rather than a reason to select a more expensive itinerary.

Premium economy availability warning

Cathay notes that premium economy is not available on every route or aircraft.

If a traveller selects a premium economy fare where that cabin is unavailable, Cathay says an economy seat may be provided instead and the difference will not be refunded. The available cabin should be checked for every flight segment before completing the booking.

This condition is particularly relevant if an itinerary includes a segment beyond the main Canada–Hong Kong flight, although the promotion itself lists Hong Kong as the eligible destination.

Is the offer useful for Canadians?

The promotion provides a direct discount without requiring a specific Canadian bank's card. Any eligible Mastercard should work according to Cathay's published terms, as long as Mastercard is selected at checkout.

The main limitations are:

• only Vancouver and Toronto departures qualify
• the destination must be Hong Kong
• only round trips qualify
• the booking window ends July 30
• only 115 economy and 60 premium-cabin tickets are allocated
• the codes cannot be combined with other offers

Travellers should compare the discounted fare with Cathay's other public fares and with prices shown by competing airlines. A promotion code does not guarantee the lowest total price.

Holders of the Cathay World Elite Mastercard should also compare this offer with the card's separate Cathay flight-discount promotion, if eligible. Only one code can be used, so the larger discount should be confirmed during the search process.

Cash fare or Asia Miles?

These Mastercard codes apply to paid tickets, not Asia Miles award bookings.

Canadians considering an award ticket should compare the cash fare after the discount with the mileage requirement, taxes, carrier surcharges, and the value of any transferable points required.
